U.S. Cardiologists Partner With Diya Health to Extend Their Reach
to Rural India
Diya Health, an innovative
Silicon Valley-based digital health firm, has partnered with U.S. cardiologists to
provide care to patients with severe heart conditions in Himachal Pradesh, India. A highly specialized team of
cardiologists will use the Diya Health platform to provide care to patients with
myocardial infarctions, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, and other heart
conditions.
“Having access to U.S.
cardiologists through Diya will save the lives of severely ill patients, and it will
help guide our primary care doctors how best to take care of the chronically ill in
our communities,” said Dr. Rajesh Sood, District Programme Officer at National
Health Mission, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of HP, India.
Diya Health’s platform
collects and stores the entirety of a patient's medical, family, and social history,
and makes it accessible to care providers across the globe. This shareable health
synopsis is complete, succinct, and safely protected by HIPAA- and GDPR-compliant
software.
The platform’s capabilities
for telehealth, remote patient monitoring, and care coordination, will improve care
for patients in the most remote parts of the world. Diya Health digitally will bring
excellent care to patients’ doorsteps.
“Telehealth is the way of the
future in cardiology and enables cardiologists to provide care to those who live in
environments with poor access to specialist care,” said Dr. Sanjay Shah, a U.S. board-certified cardiologist
and member of Diya Health’s Medical Advisory Board.
In this partnership, a rural
health clinic, based in India, will simply upload a patient’s health record to Diya
Health’s platform. Then, using the platform, the patient will email the health record
to the U.S. cardiologist, who will view the patient’s complete chronological health
history, including lab results, vital signs, and medications. The cardiologist will
use Diya Health for patient messaging, telehealth visits, remote monitoring, and
communication with physicians based in India.
“This is an important first
step towards our mission of democratizing access to healthcare around the globe,” said
Amit Bansal, CEO & Founder of Diya Health.
Diya Health is a digital
health platform that integrates patient engagement with a personal health record. It
seamlessly plugs into any existing electronic health record system (EHR). In addition
to bridging the gap between EHRs and patient-reported information, the platform has
numerous other unique capabilities, including telehealth, tracking of COVID-19
symptoms, remote patient monitoring, medication safety alerts, and automatic capture
of billable services.
